Update to: Who is Banksy
So earlier in the month I was sketching out an investigation to find out who Banksy is, and the investigation is proving fruitful.
Upon publishing my article, I was met with a demand to take down my post (voiced by the person who I think it is) with the threat of legal action. When I responded with ridicule (mate, sue me, I’ll get famous, I can’t lose), it turns out that the establishment is very soon closing it’s doors and moving on.
How about that.
I also found supporting evidence to further burnish my claim, this time based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The Thieves Guild is a feature of Skyrim, much the same as in Oblivion. Unfortunately the quest line wasn’t as entertaining as Oblivion as it gets a bit too esoteric and that stuff is better left to the Dark Brotherhood. Still, you end up stealing a lot of stuff and trying to justify it through spiritual means, lots of mythical language about general thievery. I guess in hindsight it’s better as a comedy than as a serious questline, but nonetheless.
The prize for winning is also worse than in Oblivion, but I suppose the armour looks cool.
Anyway, there is no Gray Fox in Skyrim. For whatever reason the game writers decided not to bring him back. However, the guild master this time around is a character called Mercer. He’s not that much fun and it turns out he’s an authentic thief, even stealing from his own guild.
The shock.
Anyway, the connection to Banksy is that their building is located on the back of…
wait for it…

The plot thickens…
